Workers Compensation Best Practices Survey

Of the 1,241 responses received for the 2009 RIMS Benchmark Survey, 1,127 unique organizations (90.8%) responded to the Workers Compensation Best Practices Survey.

The purpose of the survey was to:

  1. Provide the first-ever look at industry-wide operational best practices for post-loss workers' compensation costs control;
  2. Familiarize companies with the concept of an industry-wide "score" for operational cost control activities;
  3. Enable companies to compare their performance to that of other companies using a uniform measure in the ten most critical best practices that drive workers' compensation costs; and
  4. Offer possible solutions to gaps that are identified.

There were ten questions about the key areas driving workers' compensations costs. These ten questions were selected from among the 87 questions in the National Workers' Compensation Management Score assessment survey from the Workers Compensation Kit.
